The EDGe BRCA + Men’s Clinic: Early Detection of Genetic Disease

Jeffrey Dungan, MD, FACOG, FACMG, Associate Professor, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and Chief, Division of Clinical Genetics, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern Medicine

Voted for $500,000 of funding in April 2019, The EDGe BRCA + Men’s Clinic serves genetically-detected cancer patients through their care continuum after detection with monitoring and cancer screenings. The EDGe BRCA + Men’s Clinic developed a care hub staffed by genetics experts, imaging and laboratory services, and multiple interdisciplinary medical and surgical specialists dedicated to early detection (and prevention) of cancer. The first of its kind in Chicago, this rare clinical care model works with the Urology Department, the EDGe Ovarian Program, and the new Neuro-oncology Von Hippel-Lindau Clinic.
