MISSION-DRIVEN
IMPACT
The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated needs in underresourced communities. In response, The Woman’s Board has provided a safety net to community-based nonprofit organizations. Grants provide food and staples for families as well as support safety initiatives for people impacted by domestic violence.
With Your Generous Support, We Will Continue These Vital Programs:
Project
Safe Space
“Project Safe Space fosters a priceless and innovative collaboration among domestic violence providers across the city of Chicago, establishing a comprehensive program for survivors of intimate partner violence and the clinicians who come in contact with them. Vital funding provided by The Woman’s Board benefits the survivors, whom we serve and support on a daily basis. Funding also is being used to create an updated online training program for clinicians.”

Initiatives
The Woman’s Board proudly supports community-based organizations like Our Lady of the Angels food pantry, located in the West Humboldt Park neighborhood. This home delivery service was made possible through a grant from Northwestern Medicine, funded by The Woman’s Board.
“Safely acquiring food from the pantry has been challenging for high risk and immunocompromised individuals due to the pandemic. So we established a home delivery program, with over 9,400 bags of groceries delivered to the most vulnerable, who rely on the food pantry for this basic necessity.”
