Voted for $500,000 of funding in April 2019, The EDGe Program serves genetically-detected cancer patients through their care continuum after detection with monitoring and cancer screenings. The EDGe Program developed a care hub staffed by genetics experts, imaging and laboratory services, and multiple interdisciplinary medical and surgical specialists dedicated to early detection (and prevention) of cancer. The first of its kind in Chicago, this rare clinical care model works with the Urology Department’s EDGe Male BRCA Clinic, the EDGe Ovarian Clinic, and the new Neuro-oncology Von Hippel-Lindau Clinic.
